
AJ RICKETTS
AJ Ricketts is a seasoned sports broadcaster and host with more than a decade of experience covering collegiate and professional athletics.
A Miami-based play-by-play voice, AJ has called games on assignment for ESPN, Apple TV, Peacock, RunnerSpace, and more - covering NCAA football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and track & field. He served as the voice of FIU Athletics for eight years, becoming one of the youngest broadcasters in the country to serve as the voice of an FBS programs, and one of just two Asian-Americans in the country in that role.
Collegiately, Ricketts was a distance runner at the University of Miami, where he was inducted into Iron Arrow upon graduation - the highest honor given at the university. He has qualified for four Boston Marathons, competed at the Philippine Athletics Championships, and now trains alongside Olympic athletes in South Florida.
Proudly embracing his Filipino heritage, AJ launched LabanPilipinas.com, a podcast spotlighting the journeys of Filipino athletes and coaches across the U.S. and the Philippines. His passion lies in bridging communities and sharing powerful stories from across the diaspora.
Through his work with FilAmSports, AJ is committed to growing visibility for Filipino-American athletes and empowering the next generation of talent through storytelling, events, and coverage that celebrates both culture and competition, from those competing in the NFL and NBA to athletes thriving in the Philippines.
